What Privio does

Privio helps you obscure faces and other areas of your own photos before you share them, and can increase a photo's resolution with AI Enhance. You are responsible for the photos you edit and for how you use the results. Use Privio only on photos you have the right to edit.

Acceptable use

Do not use Privio to harass, stalk, defame or impersonate anyone, or to break the law. Privio removes metadata, including location and content-credential (provenance) labels, to protect privacy; do not use it to hide where an image came from in order to deceive others, for example to pass off an AI-generated or altered image as an authentic one.

Covering a face does not by itself make it lawful to publish a photo of someone. Respect other people's privacy and image rights.

Automatic detection is not perfect

Face detection is automatic and will not always be right. It can miss a face — especially one that is small, turned away, partly hidden or poorly lit — and it can mark something that is not a face.

Always check the result yourself before sharing a photo. Use the brush to cover anything the detector missed. Privio cannot guarantee that a person is unidentifiable: clothing, surroundings, tattoos and context can identify someone even when a face is covered. For the strongest protection choose Pixelate or Solid rather than a light blur.

Privio is a convenience tool, not a guarantee of anonymisation under any law. You remain responsible for deciding whether a photo is safe to share.

AI Enhance

AI Enhance reconstructs detail using a neural network. The detail it adds is a plausible estimate, not a recovery of information that was never in the photo, and it can smooth fine textures such as skin. It may also alter or invent details, including facial features, text and numbers, so the result can differ from the real scene. Do not rely on an enhanced photo as an exact record, for example as evidence or to identify someone. Very large photos may exceed what your iPhone can enhance; Privio tells you when this happens rather than reducing the photo.

Plans

Free includes 4 Blur Face per day and 1 AI Enhance per day. Plus includes unlimited Blur Face and 3 AI Enhance per day. Super includes unlimited Blur Face and unlimited AI Enhance. Every plan saves at full resolution with no watermark.

A photo counts once, however many times you save or share it, and a save or share that does not complete is not counted. Because Privio has no account or server, these counts are kept on your device.

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled, are charged to your Apple Account, and can be managed or cancelled in Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions. Upgrading from Plus to Super takes effect immediately; moving down takes effect at the next renewal.

Subscription terms

Prices are in US dollars; the price the App Store shows for your country is the price you are charged. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the same price and for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.

To cancel, open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, choose Privio and tap Cancel Subscription. You can keep using the plan until the end of the period already paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. If you already have a plan, restore it with “Restore purchases” in Privio.

Payments, refunds and price changes

Payments, renewals and refunds are handled by Apple, not by the developer, who cannot refund purchases. To ask for a refund, use reportaproblem.apple.com or contact Apple Support. Where the law gives you a right to withdraw from a digital purchase (for example in the European Union or in Brazil), Apple handles it under its terms and the law of your country.

Prices are shown by the App Store in your local currency. If a price changes, the App Store notifies you, and where the law or Apple requires your agreement, the subscription continues only if you agree. The Free plan costs nothing. The limits of every plan may change in future versions of the app.

Apple's licence and your rights

Apple's Standard End User License Agreement applies to Privio, including its governing-law terms. Nothing in these Terms limits any consumer right you have under the mandatory law of your country. For any other matter between you and the developer, these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes are brought in the state or federal courts located in North Carolina, except where the consumer protection law of your country gives you the right to bring a claim in your own courts or applies mandatory rules.

Third-party software

AI Enhance uses a model derived from Real-ESRGAN by Xintao Wang (copyright 2021, BSD 3-Clause licence). The full licence text is in Settings › Acknowledgements. The author's name is not used to endorse Privio.

No warranty

Privio is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any loss arising from your use of the app, including any consequence of a face that was not obscured, or was obscured insufficiently. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded by law, including your mandatory consumer rights.

Your photos remain yours

The developer claims no rights over your photos and never receives them.
